The Informal Economy Lab is an economic research-driven lab focused on the informal sector in Africa. It is part of Amisi & Company and behaves as our research arm which develops valuable economic research and analysis and context-specific insights regarding informal markets. This all gives our impact-driven venture builder, local governments and policy makers the information they need to be able to make informed decisions.
It is in the spirit of serving the underserved segments and promoting a more prosperous African economy that we proudly designed and intentionally house the Informal Economy Lab at Amisi & Company. This unique lab has the vision to become the preeminent source for data, in-depth studies, policy leadership, thoughtful discourse and actionable solutions concerning those neglected and misunderstood in Africa’s informal economy, a sector that is, however, a crucial source of income and employment in Africa.
